By this Privacy Statement, we wish to set out Our commitment to making sure that any Information falling into the category of Personal Information, especially as set forth by the Nigeria Data Protection Regulations (NDPR, hereinafter “The Regulations”), which Mozia Lawyers processes, is processed in compliance with relevant laws which regulate Information Protection in Nigeria as well as other applicable international Information Protection Laws and Policies. Mozia Lawyers is committed to ensuring that its processing of personal Information is carried out in compliance with the Law and International Best Practices.

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) is aimed at ensuring effective legal representation within the bounds of the law without compromising Client Confidentiality or other relevant Personal Information without your consent or the order of a competent court or other authorized body as permitted by the relevant laws operative in Nigeria.

All Mozia Lawyers staff are expected to fully comply with this policy subject to application of internal disciplinary measures for failure of compliance.

Mozia Lawyers is a full service Law firm duly incorporated in Nigeria under the relevant law with Our Head office at Plot 87A, Okoro-Otun Avenue, Off Ikpokpan Road, G.R.A., Benin City, Nigeria. We also have offices in Lagos and Asaba.

  • When you retain our legal services.
  • When you contact us through your email, social media handles or when you subscribe to our newsletter or any of our products and services.

7. Procedure and Guidelines

Mozia Lawyers will:

  • Process all Information in compliance with the law.
  • Do nothing with your Information that you would not expect given the content of Our Policy and the fair processing or privacy notice.

Mozia Lawyers take ultimate responsibility for Information protection. Premised on our commitment to ensure Lawyer-Client privilege at all times, it is our policy at Mozia Lawyers to exercise the utmost discretion regarding the information our clients entrust to us.

To this end, information entrusted to us shall not be deliberately divulged except by your consent or that of a court or body empowered by the law.

Information is stored by Mozia Lawyers and not outside of Nigeria or with a Third Party. However, your information may be transferred to our other offices or partners within or outside the country for purposes of rendering services contemplated in this policy in compliance with relevant Privacy rules and guidelines and in all cases, all partners, affiliates having access to your information shall be bound by the terms of this policy. Your information may also be stored for as long as it is required for the provision of services related thereto and in all other cases where it is no longer required, no longer than a period of six years or for such longer period we may require to prevent damage to storage write software or backup protocol.
 

Mozia Lawyers will delete all personal Information which are no longer required for the specified and agreed uses or of which consent has been withdrawn, provided that we are not legally required, entitled or otherwise authorized to continue to hold such Information.

Mozia Lawyers will ensure that processes are put in place to ensure that it can facilitate any request made by an individual to exercise their rights under Information Protection Law in Nigeria.
We shall endeavour to review all requests without undue delay.

This policy was created on 1st December, 2022 and shall be regularly monitored and reviewed, from time to time subject to notification of any amendments, modifications, deletions or alterations.
